Syria/Protests: Deadly crackdown in south-western city

Human right activists quoted by Reuters and AFP said on Sunday that one protester was killed and hundreds of others injured after security forces fired live bullet and tear gas to quell a new protest in Daraa. Thousands of people had indeed gathered for a third consecutive day in the south-western city, which is located along the Jordan border.

On Saturday, violent incidents already opposed security forces and protesters mourning two of them killed during Friday protests. In an attempt to appease the publish anger, authorities later announced they would investigate into the violence.
