Parcel bomb discovered at the Greek embassy in Rome

Italian media reported that explosive experts were working on Monday to defuse a parcel bomb that had been discovered at the Greek embassy inRome only four days after similar parcel bomb attacks had seriously wounded two persons at the Swiss and Chilean embassies.

According to the Greek ambassador in Rome, Michale E. Cambanis, the parcel had reached the embassy on Friday, suggesting that it had been sent at the same time as the other two, but due to the holiday season was discovered only today.

Reportedly, the respective parcel bomb consisted of similar materials and manner of assembly as the previous packages for which the Informal Anarchist Federation (Federazione Anarchica Informale, FAI) terrorist group had claimed responsibility.

Reports of suspicious packages were received also from the embassies ofVenezuelaMoroccoMonacoSweden and Denmark in Rome, but proved to be false alarms.
