Terrorist destroy 27 trucks bound for NATO forces in Afghanistan

Pakistani Police said that around 20 armed men had attacked and put fire to 27 lorry transports in the Shikarpur district, in the southern Province of Sindh on Friday. The aim of the attack was to destroy supplies, fuel and equipment bound for the NATO forces in Afghanistan.

This type of terrorist attacks are increasingly common around the major port of Karachi (South) and in the tribal areas of north-western border as the vast majority of all supplies for the NATO troops in Afghanistan passes through these regions.

The attack comes as several trucks with supplies for NATO troops in Afghanistan were stopped in the tribal region ofKurram on Thursday. Tensions between Islamabad and NATO commanders in Afghanistan are increasingly tensed after several incidents where NATO forces have passed the Pakistani border in air strikes targeting Taleban fighters.
