Yemen/Insurgency: Two killed as police raid Al-Qaeda hideout in Mukalla

Local Media reported that two soldiers were killed and three others injured in the clashes between the security forces and suspected Al-Qaeda terrorists in Mukalla city of Hadramout province on Monday.

Reportedly, a gunbattle erupted after security forces raided a house in the Fowah neighbourhood of the port city of Mukalla, some 900 kilometres south-east of the capital Sana’a.

Suspected terrorists hiding in the house threw a hand grenade at soldiers outside the house, killing one and injuring three. Another policeman was killed in a clash with the terrorists.

Defence Minister stated that two suspected members of Al-Qaeda were arrested in the raid.
