Local Media reported that Carlos Alberto Renteria Mantilla, the last leader of Colombia’s Norte de Valle Cartel who had remained at liberty, was captured in Venezuela on Monday.

Reportedly, the 65-year-old Colombian drug trafficker, also known as “Beto Renteria“, was detained by a Venezuelan Investigation Agency with the help of British Intelligence.

The Norte de Valle cartel, one of Colombia’s most notorious narco-trafficking organizations, operates out of the Valle del Cauca department in western Colombia.
