Colombia’s Defence Ministry stated that Colombian troops killed 12 Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) terrorists on Sunday in an attack in the mountainous central province of Tolima.
According to the Ministry, the terrorists killed in the raid were part of the personal guard of FARC leader Guillermo Sáenz, known asAlfonso Cano. The remaining eight men and four women from the terrorist unit assigned to guard Cano were recovered. Military Officials said one of the killed woman was Magaly Grannobles, the Head of the Unit responsible for Cano’s security.
Reportedly, in separate clashes over the weekend, 10 soldiers, two police officers and two civilians also were killed as troops tried to gain control of areas of the country from FARC.
