Most wanted ETA terrorist arrested in Belfast

Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) stated that Fermin Vila Michelana, a suspected member of the Basque terrorist group ETA wanted in Spain for a number of attacks has been arrested in the centre of Belfast on Thursday night.

Reportedly, Michelena was detained as he was leaving an Argentine restaurant where he worked as a cook.
Police Officials said that he, was taken to the Antrim Serious Crime Suite for questioning. He is the latest fugitive to be caught hiding out in Northern Ireland.

Michelena was suspected of involvement in several attacks, including a car bombing that killed a police officer in Madrid in July 2001.

ETA, designated as a terrorist organization by both the European Union and the United States, is blamed for more than 820 deaths in a 41-year campaign for independence of the Basque region.
