Kyrgyzstan/Civil unrest: Death toll in clashes reach 2,000

Russian media citing Interim President of Kyrgyzstan Roza Otunbayeva reported on Friday that the death toll from the ethnic clashes which began last Thursday in the Osh and Jalal-abad provinces goes up to 2,000.
The latest clashes followed violence in May when supporters of Former President Kurmanbek Bakiyev clashed with supporters of the Interim Government in the southern cities of Osh and Jalal-abad.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that Otunbayeva flew to the country’s south on Friday to help to decrease the tensions and meet with the local leaders.
