Five of the pro-Palestinian activists aboard a Turkish aid ship attacked by the Israelian military forces last week, have links to Al-Qaeda, Hamasand other armed groups, Israel Defense Forces (IDF) revealed on Sunday.
The five were reported to be aboard the Mavi Marmara, the Gaza aid flotilla’s flagship, carrying aid toward the Gaza Strip. However, the defense forces did not specify whether these five activists were involved in the violent clashes with the Israel Navy commandos that left nine people dead and several more wounded.
The five activists identified by the IDF are Fatimah Mahmadi, a US resident of Iranian origin; Ken O’Keefe, a Briton living in the United States;Ahmad Umimon, a Frenchman of Moroccan origin; and two Turkish citizens namely Hassan Iynasi and Hussein Urosh.
Some passengers on the ship cast doubt against the defense force’s claims, adding that there is no way to brand them as terrorists.
