Colombian media reported on Sunday that suspected guerrillas from the National Liberation Army (ELN) killed seven soldiers in an ambush in north-west Colombia.
Separately in the Norte de Santander department, guerrillas burnt ballot boxes on their way to the town of San Calixto and destroyed the communication tower.
According to Registrar, guerrillas are trying to prevent people from voting in the departments of Antioquia, Arauca, Cauca,Nariño, Caldas, Caqueta and Valle.
Reportedly, fighting between factions of the FARC (Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia) and ELN was reported in the town in the Norte de Santander department of Teorama. Whereas in Hicari’s same department authorities seized a number of home-made mortar grenades.
