At least 14 suspected terrorists have been killed when US drone aircraft fired around 18 missiles into Pakistan’s North Waziristan tribal district on Tuesday, Pakistani security officials said.
Reportedly, the strikes hit Dattakhel village, about 30 km west of Miranshah, the main town of North Waziristan, which has become a safe haven for Taleban and Al-Qaeda-linked terrorists. An intelligence official stated that fourteen suspected terrorists were killed and half a dozen more wounded, meanwhile the death toll might rise as more people were believed to be buried under the rubble.
Earlier on Monday, a gun battle between Taleban fighters and Pakistani security forces left ten soldiers and 30 Taleban terrorists killed in Pakistan’s Orakzai region. The fighting broke out after suspected terrorists ambushed a military search team in the Taleban stronghold of Daburi, about 16 km west of Orakzai’s main town Kalaya.
