Attack on police in Northern Ireland: 6 injured

At least six police officers have been injured when suspected dissident republicans attacked them with petrol bombs and stones on Monday, media reported.

Reportedly, police officers were attacked when they arrived to Lake Street, Lurgan on a bomb alert. Later the device, which was abandoned inside a wheelie bin, was declared a hoax. The bomb alert disrupted train services on the railway line near Lurgan for some time. A number of homes were also evacuated during the alert.

No arrests were made so far, but police are examining video evidence to identify those who orchestrated the attack.
