The Colombian military officials announced that army troops killed six and captured 18 guerrillas of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) in central west of the country on Sunday.
According to Army General Henry Torres, six members of the FARC’s “Angelino Godoy” Front have been gunned down in the rural area of the city of Neiva, Huila province. The source also confirmed the death of one Colombian troop during the clashes.
Reportedly, leader of the Front alias “Rigo” was among the killed. He was allegedly responsible for orchestration of numerous terrorist attacks and murdering of nearly 20 people, including a government official and a policeman.
In another army operation on Sunday, a member of the FARC’s “Uriel Londolo” gang was arrested by the army in Arauca province on the border with Venezuela. It has also been reported that police captured other 17 FARC guerrillas, including brother of the commander of the Front 30 alias “Mincho,” in the rural area of Buenaventura Port, in the south-western Valle de Cauca province.
