IDF foils attack at Gaza border; four terrorists killed

Officials and media reported that four Palestinian terrorists have been killed and three others wounded in a clash with Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) troops on Gaza border early on Tuesday.

According to IDF, infantry soldiers, tanks and a helicopter foiled an attack by a group of Palestinians trying to plant explosives near a border-crossing in central Gaza. Israeli military stated that there were no casualties on their side.

Islamic Jihad, a terrorist group, said its fighters clashed with Israeli forces who entered Gaza after they came under fire from a helicopter and Israeli tanks.

Tuesday’s clash comes after Israeli media reported that air force bombed targets in Gaza overnight, killing a terrorist of Hamas, the Islamic Resistance Movement.

In recent weeks tension rose high along the Gaza border. Late last month an IDF officer who was killed in fighting on the edge of the Hamas-ruled enclave. Last month Israeli aircrafts had bombed a storage facility for weapons and explosives in the Gaza Strip.
