At least 86 suspected members of the Kurdish Workers’ Party (PKK) have been arrested by ahead of the 11th anniversary of the capture of rebel leader Abdullah Ocalan, state-run Anatolian news agency reported on Sunday.
According to the news agency, Turkish police made the arrests on Saturday in raid operations in the south-eastern provinces of Batman, Hakkari, Mardin, Siirt, and Sirnak, as well as Agri, Mus, and Van in the east, the southern city of Adana, and in Istanbul. Among the arrested people included representatives of the Peace and Democracy Party (BDP), the successor to the recently banned Democratic Society Party (DTP).
